About the Artist
Shannon Naik is a self-taught fiber artist with 21 years of experience. She lives in Beavercreek, Ohio, and has been a member of the Miami Valley Art Quilt Network since 2014.
Shannon’s work has been published in Quilting Arts Magazine and displayed in local community spaces. Her commissioned Dayton Redlining Quilt hangs at Sinclair University.
A love of textiles and desire to be artistically free to compose naturally led to an interest in art quilting.

Artist’s Statement
My mother taught me to sew when I was young, but I didn’t discover fabric art until I decided to make a baby quilt for my first nephew in 2005. I wanted to create a unique piece based on a mural in the nursery. That project introduced me to art quilting and began my journey as a fiber artist.
My work is always colorful and often incorporates a good circle, three-dimensional element, or embellishment. For me, each piece is an opportunity to experiment, discover, and create something unexpected.
