Mama Demands Liberty:
As the mother of a queer son, I know with certainty that every member of the LGBTQIA+ Community deserves the Liberty to live their lives fully; the same as any other American Citizen. I chose the image of the Statue of Liberty as she is an easily recognized symbol of Liberty for Americans. My interpretation of her embodies a fierce Mama bear holding her cub who is swaddled in the colors of the pride flag. She is standing with conviction for her baby cub to have a life of Liberty. Her flame is a beacon to all in the LGBTQIA+ Community to live the promise of Liberty for all Americans.

And Justice For All:
As the mother of a queer son, my dream is that every member of the LGBTQIA+ Community receives justice.
My interpretation of Lady Justice embodies the colors of the LBGTQIA+ rainbow flag to signify her support of their rights to justice and equality. Her grey hair represents wisdom. White is the absence of color and represents the absence of prejudice in her enforcement of justice. She is depicted demolishing the existing wall of injustice, each brick representing one of many anti-LGBTQIA+ bills. The wall is in shades of black and grey to represent the dark times of injustice we are currently living.
